I received my EF 300mm f/2.8 L yesterday and took it out with the 1.4 converter on to give it a test run with my lab, Wile E.
WDYT?

As i'm new to the DSLR arena and doing my best to gain knowledge before a purchase of a DSLR (due to lack of funds at present lol), what does a converter do ? What is the benefit of having one ? It multiplies the focal length of your lens, in my case by 1.4. They won't fit on all lenses though and poor quality ones can decrease the quality of the image from the lens too.
