Out & about early this morning specifically to look for the pair of little owls nesting nearby to home & was pleased I didn't need to wait as they were there "on cue" & ready to pose!

canonloader Cream of the Crop More info | Jun 08, 2010 14:38 | #7 Wow, I didn't even catch that these were UK owls. They do look just like our Burrowing owls here. I wonder how he hunts with just one eye. No binocular vision with a single eye, or depth perception. Maybe they do hunt by sound as many other owls do. Mitch- ____...^.^...____

Jun 08, 2010 14:54 | #8 I'm pretty sure that this is the male of the pair Mitch - I see more of the 2 eyed one around the nest area, although this one hangs around nearby bringing in beetles etc.

They live here Mitch - about 15ft up or so. There's a couple of branches to the left of the hole, slightly higher up which they swoop down into the hole from - crafty blighters won't go in if I'm near tho' - got to get the cammo net out when I have more time. ![]()
