Hi guys I have recently taken up a Zenfolio account and would be interested in getting some feedback on its layout and content so far...

I was and still am using fotki which is great but I have thousands of pictures on there and it is more of a fmily snap thing mingling in some learning shots and wanted to host what I think are my better shots elsewhere

Thanks in advance

Yup, looks pretty good to me. Nice, clean and simple. What theme is that you're using?

I notice your logo has a similar font to mine too, great minds think alike eh?

I like it, much less messy than my layout, less is most certainly more. You also seem to have managed to mingle different folder images into the slideshow, when I asked Zenfolio if I could do this they said no.

Nice and simple.

where it says "Welcome to Brian Jones Photography..." their are big spaces between the words and "photography" is on the next line.

Also you need to add your location in their as people would have no idea which town you come from, and last but not least SEO needs some work.

Hopes that is to some help :)

Regards,
Cameron

I like it too, very clean. I am also curous as to what theme you are using.

There's a big blank box on your "about" page, a missing photo of you?

I would change "all of my photos" to "galleries" or something better sounding that what you are using now. And for SEO (search engine optimization) you should have on your front page your location and what type of photography you do. Right now you have a lot of notes about framing and acrylic, etc.

And if you're going to use the search bar, don't put it at the bottom of the page. It's not intuitive to look for it there. And this is personal, but with the design you're going for, it might be good to see if you could cut off a bit from the height so you can fit the entire thing in an average browser window.

Thank you all for taking the time to both look at my site and even more for offering some feedback, very much appreciated.

I will take them all onboard particularly teh comments relating to SEO, something I know very little... OK bugger all about, will do some research on here and in other places over the next few weeks and see if I can not get to grips.

Elfy and Bishop, I started off with the fine art black theme but changed all of the font types and got rid of the nasty orange.

Lowner, I only have 1 "gallery" and have them separated out into collections which makes it easy to get a mixed slideshow.

Thanks happsnapper, I had not really looked at the about page properly, will have a look see if I can find a suitable picture, if not get rid of the box.

Thank you all once again

Brian

Would love to try and get it to fit in one page, will have a tinker and see if it is possible, your comment makes sense ref the search bar will shift it some time in the next few days :)

Thanks
Brian

I made a group called slideshow and then added in different images to the folder via 'collections'...

hope that helps.

ReenaG,

That sounds like what I need. Bearing in mind I'm completely stupid with anything to do with computers, a more step by step process would be great if you would be kind enough. Rather than bore others with it, maybe a PM?

On your welcome page and on your contact page you put some of the same info. Try to choose what info you want on either page, so you don't end up with people reading the same info twice.
