Should I gun for a 6mdh and a grip(w/extra battery)

or should I try to snipe a 430ex ii of the BST/ebay?

I like my backpack, but its a pain to get in and out of during events and sports. Nothings wrong with it, and its big enough, its just not convenient. And I would really like the grip for my vertical shots (I usually take a lot), plus I could store and extra battery. On top of that, my pinky would actually have somewhere to go on my rebel XS.

The 430ex ii would help my even shooting alot, and would be GREAT for portraits.

Which one would you choose if you were in my shoes?

I hate shooting events with a backpack... but would hate being without a flash as well. How about a 6MDH + 430EX? :p

I'd go for the flash first too.
