Want to try out a cheap ring flash like this one. (external link)

But they only have adapter rings for up to 67mm...but it looks like you could just kinda press fit in onto a lens. You think I could jury rig it up onto my 17-40? (or a 24-70, hoping to get one in the summer)

Seems like all the "step down adapters" are for using a 77mm filter on a 67mm lens...anyone know of a 77 (lens) to 67 (filter)? I could deal with the vignetting (or maybe even the 1.3 crop could deal with it)

...screw listing gear,it just sets up preconceived notions...but if you must link (external link)

well, you could get this (external link) from Adorama.

looking at their adapter rings, i'd bet you could get a Cokin P 77mm adapter to fit.

this (external link) seems to be back ordered.

if you're getting that ring flash from ebay, why not just pick up a step down ring from ebay as well? while you're at it, you might want to try that cokin p 77mm adapter as well. they're pretty cheap on ebay. you can be a guinea pig and let us know if it works out ;)

yeah was thinking about getting one from ebay but I can't seem to find a actual step down...they all look more like step up rings by a different name

type "77mm 67mm step down ring" into ebay's search field. you can limit it to the US only and get it faster, or keep the default search to worldwide and get it cheaper from china. there's 18 in the US currently at the time of my search (69 worldwide). i guess it just depends how fast you want it, and if you're willing to spend an extra $3.
