These were from the district finals last week- There were a few thing working against me. First, the game was played on a college field, and the fences did not allow any direct access to the field. I ended up jockeying among the fans for vantage points and once I had one, I was reluctant to move and give it up. Second, the sun was bright and setting- tough to shoot into, so shooting from the third base side was not really fitting with my vision.
Based on some previous discussion, I went into this with the idea to focus on faces more than the ball. It wasn't always easy, with the caps and helmet shielding eyes from the bright sun. My conclusion is that the best photos have both- faces and balls. (no pun intended)
