Just playing with a processing option. I think the final edit might work better with the modern era automobiles removed.

If you wish to spend your entire life taking lame snapshots and making excuses for them, that is your prerogative. If others wish to experiment, that is their prerogative. You are under no obligation to like my images and like most folks that frequent this forum, I am under no obligation to pay any attention to your childish comments. Interestingly enough, there is one benefit to your otherwise worthless input, it does take the photos back to the top of the viewing queue.

Interesting treatment,as you say removing modern cars would probably help. I'm also thinking the glassed in overpass might be a bit too modern as well.

I agree it would be better without modern era cars in the photo. I like it though.

The smaller version posted makes it seem busier, but it's not as "busy" full size.

Woo! In the Canon dSLR game.

The cars definitely need to go....can't do much with the overpass....although they claim that it is inspired from the art deco period, same as the locomotive....maybe if it were in Miami instead of Roanoke, VA.

Hmm a bit of a tough one with the overpass anyway look forward to the shot without the cars if you decide to do it.

The 800 pixel size definitely hurts it, but the next size I have available exceeds the forum limits by considerable, so I am stuck linking it to allow folks to see it a bit bigger. This was a scheduled event shoot, which a number of photographers paid for the privilege to take photos of the 1218. The organizers really didn't do the shooters any favors in the way they set things up, especially with their parking arrangements.

I'm working on a version without the cars....might be a while...lots of cloning and healing needed. Perhaps I need to spring for PSCS5 and the new tools there.

I like them both, with an edge toward the edit. Don't think we need to see so much of what now looks like dirt at the bottom?

Looks awesome with the cars gone...in the second version the guy walking beside the train pops a lot more too, which I like a lot for some reason. Perhaps because it gives a scale for it? Who knows...looks good anyways :)

Frank...the problem that I run into is maintaining the 2:1 aspect ratio that the customer wants. To get rid of any more at the bottom would require trimming the sides and you can see that I don't have the luxury of taking much from there without chopping off part of the train. The original is already at the top of the frame and there is no way I can successfully increase the height of the building at the top right. I'm open for suggestions.
