I have 3 Domke bags and love them all. One of them I've had for around 20 years and I've been carrying it back and forth to work all that time. I carry my lunch, newspaper and lots of other stuff, kind of a man purse. It's a navy F-3X. Well one day the hand strap finally wore all the way through and I called Domke to ask if they had any to sell. They said that that color has been discontinued on that bag. A couple of days later the lady I talked to called me back and said she had been rummaging around the warehouse and found one in the color I wanted and did I still want it. I told her I did and she mailed it to me, no charge. That's what I call customer service.

Maybe I'll get another 20 years out of it.

I love my 2 Domke bags and I will probably get another one for my birthday. :) I think it was a mistake for them to discontinue the blue color since that's what I have now. Here's to another 20 years of use!

Jon, Domke should send you a check monthly for all the bags you've recommended to the members here. :)

I've been looking at domke bags. The only concern I'd have is padding.
I like how they're pretty low profile. (Unlike the 6mdh I was looking at. Just the bag itself looks pricey. Enough to get stolen.)

I make my own inserts for the Domke F-802 because I have so many left overs from other bags, but you can buy inserts that will work for you. I've knocked over my bags or they've rolled in the car while I drive, and they are plenty safe.

Would you recommend the Domke F-6 A "little bit smaller" bag?

I'd be carrying: Grip'd Rebel XS, 70-200f/4L, 50mm f/1.8, 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 and someday along the road a 430ex ii
Along with a couple filters, battery chargers, expodisc.

Would this be a good one to take to Hawaii next month?

Very impressive service - excellent bags, too. I fully expect my F-3x to outlast much of my other camera equipment :p

I've been a Domke user for 20 years===my vest still looks like new.

I just bought the new F3 wax bag (perhaps 4 months ago). The only change I would suggest? The gripper strap should have rubber strips both sides. Sometimes I get it upside down, and it would slip off.

I've used their camera straps a long time too; that change would help on those straps too.

My bag carries an amazing amount of gear considering its size.

DaveL happy customer

edit: the reason it took so long to buy a bag? They're horrendously expensive in Canada. The dealers don't stock much. They also don't stock inserts and postal straps. Try $42 for a postal strap! I'd go postal before I spent that much!

But I"m still a bagaholic!
