it will indeed be awesome, it was my first lens.....but i found the 17-55 to be a better focal length on a crop body

I haven't really taken a picture I love with this lens yet. I admit that I haven't tried too hard to get a great shot, and I've only shot about 40-50 or so shots around the yard, but the ones I've done so far haven't impressed like I thought. The good shots are coming, I know, I just haven't found them yet. I admit that part of my problem is that I seldom work in the 24-70mm range, and thus those shots are fewer in number for me. I simply need to get off my duff and go find those shots.

In the meantime, though, here is an example of where this lens could really use that IS that has never come to pass. Indeed, I could have shot this at a higher ISO, but I didn't. 70mm at f/2.8 and 1/30 shutter, hand-held, ISO 200. It's asking a lot from any lens to be razor sharp under those conditions, but this lens tried.
