Solution to bent rubber connection cover?

So apparently i accidentally stuck the camera back in the case without pushing the covers back fully into the camera..so one came loose and got wedged in the case open..now it springs back out and will be quite annoying..not to mention letting moisture get into the remote/flash connections. Anyone have ideas on how to fix this?(bending it back in place wont work as it has stretched the sides.)

The cover is stuffed so perhaps cutting both sides ina v pattern will allow it to sit in place?

attach a rubber band around it when its in place so it bends back?

try a little heat, hot hair dryer perhaps, but take the cover off the camera first obviously

Just call Canon's parts department. As far as I know, you can buy any parts that you want to for your camera - especially the external stuff.

I sat the camera in a odd position so it would bend in the other direction and it has gotten better. I will probably try cutting the excess off, also thought about heating it up. I am assuming its not too hard to take it off?

not taken mine off, but its likely just part of the molding is a little prong that goes in a hole fnar fnar
