Boy you guys/gals in the Upper Midwest are having a great airshow season.

Meanwhile, here in AZ, we're dead for the next four months! :(

It actually kind of sucks that we "train" 'em here in the winter then send all the acts all over the country for the airshow season and we're left holding the proverbial bag. :(:(:(

One of these years, I'm going to get invited to the Heritage Flight Conference! ;)

Yes but when we are all done and wanting more ,thats when your getting the shows so its just a never ending cycle of wanting and getting ...lol

Thanks for all the comments and I'm with you Jay, would love to make the HF Conference. Im just wondering if that will get cutback cause of the budgets and the lessening of the ACC HF, however, some shows have the coin to pay for them. I think it is a crucial part of the airshow world not to mention the history of what you are seeing fly. I am not sure how many of us, and I am guilty of all camera on these passes, but if you are fortunate enough like I was a few years ago to talk to an X WWII pilot and to see the expression(face) on the heritage flight I will never forget... It is true "We Remember" and thank them !

From what I've read, Airshows are enjoying something of an upswing these days.

From the fan POV:
- Cheap (Free at AFBs and often very affordable at airports)
- Different and entertaining for Young and Old alike (with a good mix of acts and attractions)
- Usually close to home (if there's an AFB or airport willing to tackle a show)

As with most things in life, the real killers are:
- Insurance (Both perceived and [Unfortunately] real liability has shut down more than one location over the last few years)
- Complaints (more people moving closer to airports)
- Logistics (Shows are hard to put on year after year. Some locations have gone to odds or evens.)
