Didn't even realise, but it looks like I won the section for Astro with my Orion Nebula.

Wow, I am flabbergasted. I set myself a goal of trying to get something published in my 1st year and wow, !!!!!!

Huge thanxs to all that voted for me and congrats to all the other entries whoever you are.

/Oscar speech over.

It is clearly the best Astrophotography photograph in the collection. While I also like the desert scene which is running second I don't see it in the came class as you excellent effort.

I accidentally only voted for you not realizing I can vote for 3... bummer. :)

Let me rephrase that. I voted for you... but didn't realize until after I cast my voted that I could have voted for two more.

Congrats. She's a beauty.

Congrats, it's a great shot. Very similar colors to my orion shot. Seems like you and I came out with the same strange color data :)

Well done Cat, only just seen this. No contest really, and although the other images are good, yours is as professional a shot of M42 as I've ever seen. Very good show Mr. I remember when you were a beginner, (about two weeks ago!!, (I'm exaggerating!!)), and now look at you. :)

Thanks all.

Was with a 900mm FL 120mm Ap F7.5 Skywatcher ED120 refractor with a EOS 1000D modified for IR.

Exposure length was in total around 4 - 5 hours.
