Last time I posted up pics like this people freaked out, so I'll give a link, and some of the mellow ones I'll show.

But I would like some opinions on the photos.

This is what the procedure 'made' she is swollen so they don't stick out much. I know it's not a great photo though.

Bet that Hurt like a Son of a gun! I know how bad my 'private' piercings hurt, and it was a lot less severe!

#2 and 4 are by far my favorite, The blurring of the artist with the clarity of the recipent is a powerful effect, and the emotion/concern in #4 is superb, A little more light on the person on the floor would have been preferable, but not too much.

#1 and 3 just dont work for me, if for the prep shot you would have shown a surgical tray with the tools and implants lined up with her in the background, It would have been great. #3 I just dont care for, cant say why, but it just doesnt speak to me like the others.

I'm very familiar with body mods and the scene, and I can stomach just about everything but Suspension, it just gives me the Heeby Jeebies.

Great work

-Johnny

Teflon coated ball bearings (possibly nylon balls) implanted just under the skin.

you can also have threaded studs put in, so you can thread spikes onto yourself.

If you can dream it, it can be surgically added, enchanced, or removed.

Are you working there, were you with her or something else? I'm a bit surprised you were allowed to take photos in an operation room. Kinda cool actually.

Hope you don't mind me asking, but why does she want those ball bearings? I'm not very familiar with the body modification scene.

I don't really get why she got them... it's her thing. Over her breast you can see a tat that says survivor, over that there is a scar from her cancer treatment as a kid. She's a helluva strong person, and I think it's part of that.

I guess I don't have much of an imagination. Photos are OK. I find the surroundings in the 'operating room' to be interesting with folks sitting on the floor watching? The photos look like something out of a Bond movie where torture is being used.... This has got to make air travel in America tough for her.

Appreciate the warning about the other photos though.

Things like this normally are not done in an 'operating room' but inside a Tattoo Parlor, Believe it or not, good shops are very clean and all the equipment is either new or steralized in a medical grade unit.

So the fact that my photos tend to bring up more about what's going on than the quality is a good thing right ?

I'd say that makes them effective images, they make the people think and ask questions, bring up emotion.

Id say thats a good thing!

OK, I've looked at all of them & not one tells the story of just what is being done! I see that something is happening, but what? I suggest that you try to tell the story in one shot! ;-)a Even as a picture story, I'm left wondering what you're illustrating here.
Get a lot closer in pic #2. Show her expression, even if slightly OOF. Show the 2nd ball just before insertion. A touch of side light might help.

The beads are plastic, they aren't gonna set anything off.

They use some sort of hospital grade sterilization agent, and she's on keflex (something like that, antibotic)

Steve, the guy doing the procedure knows his stuff, been in the industry for 10+years.
