I've been looking to buy my mom a nice P&S digital camera. I want something sleek and nice for her. Keep in mind I'm a Canon guy. But I've looked around and compared and have concluded that Nikon P&S look much nicer than the Canon P&S cameras. The Nikons are sleek in design, whereas the Canons look too bulky and feel odd in your hands.

What are your thoughts?

The person who owns our local camera shop is a Nikon user and uses Canon PowerShots for her choice of compact camera. Most Nikon users I know choose PowerShots over the Nikon compacts.

I've always liked Canon compacts better. But... I don't care how they look.

I'm a Nikon DSLR shooter with both the D90 & D700. Yet, my choice of P&S are the Canons. I have an S90 & an older SD900. The Canon P&S cameras seem to perform better for me.

I'm all Canon for DSLR and P&S, but I bought a Nikon P&S for my daughter for Christmas last year and have been severely disappointed with it when compared to all my other P&S's for the other kids. It is terrible outside in full sun.
