Can a speedlight be set to use HSS without using ETTL?

The reason I ask is because I only have one 430EX and no other speedlight to act as the master. Also, I have the RF-602 triggers so manual is my only option.

In short, no. Sorry. the closest i've come is with the new pocket wizards, got them all the way up to 1/2000 using the new versions "pre-sensing" ability or whatever PW calls it, but with straight manual triggers its not gonna happen.

No f/8 but what we make
