Ya, the right side of her lower cheek was buried in darkness and I did a crappy job, so far, of bringing it back. The shadows were very weird and in some parts extremely deep. Didn't notice the hair... thanks for pointing it out.

A work in progress.

LOL I probably would never notice that stuff but for the last few days I have been trying to swap faces between two photo's from a family shoot that I did where the silly mom in the picture had her head tilted back and it looked kinda goofy but man that is hard to do.

:o

I just realized I posted on the wrong thread.

Oh well. no one has complained, yet (not shot with a prime).

Swapping heads can be very hard to do, or relatively easy. Depends what you have to work with. The best of luck.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

LOL I didn't even notice and how could we....you shouldn't have said anything lol! Yes the swapping I don't think is going to happen. In one photo she has her head tilted up and in the other tilted down and she also has glasses on ugh!!

For those taking photos with the 50mm 1.8 II, are you using manual or AF?

Always auto focus unless the light is too dark. Focus on the eyes and click = win.

My problem is that the AF on that lens is off for anything but close-ups. So I'm forced to use manual in many cases.

I experience the same problem with this lens. Considering purchasing the 1.4 just for that reason.

In that case, the real question is why don't you get the lens fixed, not whether other people use MF or AF.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

I suppose the question I should have asked is if other people using the same lens have the very same problem :)
