My camera recently took a fall and and after I take a few pictures it stops taking them. The camera goes through all the motions but the photo is completely black.

Any ideas what I could have screwed up? Please speak in stupid terms, this is all new to me.

Can you hear the shutter?

Stupid question, but is the lens cap on?

Yes I can hear the shutter. Lens cap Is OFF and camera is ON. I've taken the battery out then replaced it and that's when it takes the photos but after a few they go black. I even took the lens off to see if the actual camera was functioning properly (not that I know what that is supposed to look like).

Although you can hear it, it does sound like a shutter problem to me. Your only choice it to get it looked at by a professional. Good luck.
