Jun 09, 2010 13:43 | #3 I had a different brand of the same thing. It worked pretty well. My biggest gripe with it is that I had to collapse it every time to get it in my camera bag. It didn't hold up to that kind of treatment. I found it impractical.

It does cut down on the light coming from the flash considerably. I get the same results now by bouncing the flash correctly and using the FEC. i guess it would be better for outdoors with nothing to bounce on if OCF not available the time? Canon 7D

But the thing is I wont be using it often so quite pointless having to spend that amount of money. So looking for alternative. At about 1/10th the cost it seems like the $5 ebay model might be worth a toss and if it works out the Lumiquest is probably a higher quality option if you like the results.
