Well, I have a beloved error with Lightroom 2.7 now. It was working completely error free up until this morning. The only change the system has had is the two new monitors I installed this morning. Since then I have been getting the following error when I try to start up lightroom.

Please note that the master collection cs4 programs are running fine. I have googled this error but do not see a fix for my situation.

Notice the error path stops at "Program: C:\Pr..."

What does this mean? Thanks for any info. Running Windows Vista.

Also note: I have uninstalled and reinstalled lightroom to no avail. [EDIT] I completely removed all folders, catalogs, and the Lightroom 2.5 folder from the program files folder and reinstalled again - all is well.[\EDIT]

Have you tried moving your preferences to the desktop and letting LR create a new file? Uninstalling wouldn't touch the prefs file and it may have information about your monitors for the dual monitor features in LR.

It lives at:

C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom 2 Preferences.agprefs

You may need to enable viewing of hidden folders within windows to see it.

Move it to the desktop then open LR and it will make a new one. If it doesn't work then move it back to save you having to change your preferences manually to how you like them.

Hank, I just tried what you described and moved the file successfully to the desktop with no luck of lightroom opening.

Pete - that's about all I can give you. That is what I get when I click on LR. Let's clarify one thing - I am at work, on a networked system and I am not a windows guru anymore. I dropped off the boat years ago and switched to mac. I wonder why....??? ;)

Okay, problem has been resolved. I uninstalled lightroom completely.... the 2.5 folder, the 2.7 folder, catalogs etc - and reinstalled. Everything is working fine now. Woohoo!
