Hi there!

I am looking for a printer.. and I know that mPix is pretty good but I was wondering if there are Canadian printers that have competitive price and quality as mPix? I prefer to stay local for printing if I can.

Thanks in advance,
Theresa

There are many great labs in Canada that have quality that would rival anything coming out of mpix. Mind you, I wouldn't put Costco or any of the other quickie kind of labs in that category. I've tried them and they are ok but inconsistent and I would rate these kind of labs as satisfactory and not above that.

The ones that I have used personally and would recommend would be

Technicare - this is a pro lab and you have to sign up to use them.

http://www.provisia.ca/main_en.html (external link) - I used this lab exclusively when I lived in Montreal.

I can also vouch for the Camera Canada pro lab.

http://www.silvanoimaging.com/index.html (external link) has given me some great work from both film and digital.

If you simply do an internet search for pro color labs you will get plenty of results. I suggest you pick a few and send in a test image to all of them. What I did was to send in that exact same file a couple of weeks later and compare the results to ensure that they have consistency. This is where places like Costco, Walmart, et all failed.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.
