I'm a CPS member and sent in my new 70-200 2.8 L IS II for adjustment. Just didn't seem sharp, especially in the corners at 2.8. I sent a flat shot to Canon with a note. If it doesn't come back any better, I might go back to an f4 IS -- at least its sharp wide open -- at least my old copy was. And over a $1000 cheaper.

At any rate, they've had it for 12 days with no return in sight. According to their site, I should get it returned in 10 days. Thats 10 days to my door. The best I can hope for today is 16 days. Thats a pretty bad turn-around. I being patient because I want it right.

And it sure isn't NPS (Nikon Pro Services). I used to drop off one day and pick up the next (Niles, IL).

Anybody with experience here?

I'm only 1 shipping day away from CPS service here, but when I sent my 24L II in to be cleaned/calibrated, they turned it around in a day. They also shipped it back overnight (even though ground is only 1 day).

I've had dealings with CPS (Stockholm, Sweden) a couple of times. For repairs I typically got the stuff in one or two days (with a promised turnaround of 5 days).

I called yesterday and it shipped this am for Monday delivery. good thing I wasn't in a hurry! the woman on the phone said that repairs were completed and all they had to do was calibrate and adjust. that's all I wanted in the first place!
