Hey guys - been shooting paintball recently and wanted your feedback on how I'm doing.

I think I need to get better action.
I've been using my 85mm for this, which kind of limits my options - don't want the camera to get shot.

also, funny story: this guy here didn't even see me, he said. he's pointing right at me.

My personal opinion (not being a paintball photographer) would be that there are no paintballs in any of the shots.

It looks kind of like they have just been asked to model the guns. Some paint would add to the realism.

Ya however theses look to be like Rental... Very little action is to be had here with Rentals... I would look into going to a tournament or a Team practice... Alittle more action to be had.

this is actually a summer camp - jr. high kids - so I'm doing all their photo stuff. (a bit rough. means I have to be good at not only sports but also candids, weird lighting setups for worship services, and capturing massive amounts of happies.) I agree, though - I should work on getting a bit more paint in the shots.

I think these look great for summer camp photos. I'd keep doing what you're doing.

A longer lens would help, but I think you'll be fine getting the types of shots you need.
