I broke a pin in my 50d a while back. I finally decided to get it fixed and what not. Have any of you gotten canon to fix it, and know the price?

I'm assuming you means the pins inside the CF reader? I think they would probably just replace the reader itself. Prices vary; but if you send it to Canon they will give you an estimate.

If you are indeed talking about broken or bent CF slot pins, are they still in the slot have you taken them out? If so, is the camera still working?

I'm asking, because many of those pins are either redundant or nonfunctional and if you bend them and can't straighten them you can actually pull them out and still have a working camera.

Especially the last post by gjl711.

I don't know if this is the same with a 50D.

Hope this helps

I just replied to a 30D thread about broken pins. I now noticed this local shop in San Diego has a repair service for the soldered on pin bridge for the 50D
