What is the one lens you would never sell?

I'd sell any of them if a better one comes along.

500L F4 IS. That's the lens makes me proud and happy to be shooting Canon.. Next one is 135L. Great lens for flowers, zoo shots, indoor and out door sports.

I see myself hanging onto these:

35L .. for the obvious reasons.
135L .. also for the obvious reasons.
24-70 2.8 .. just a workhorse, a money - maker .. superb IQ and really, really sharp.
Tokina 11-16 2.8 .. super wide angle, even when used on my 1DMK2 and 5D2 bodies.

When you find a good lens, KEEP IT !!

The last time I sold a lens was in the late 1980s.. I hang onto my stuff or pass it down to family.. Although I did sell a Bronica ETRs kit with lenses..

I have a Nikon film kit with four bodies and about 15 lenses going back to the mid 1970s which is in the hands of my 24 year old niece who still shoots film..

I can't make it one because I shoot different things.

But since I have ten lenses I'll keep three:

100-400L - for field sports
135L - for indoor sports
24-105L on the 5D for the rest of life.

I love my 24-70, but I don't think that I'd never sell it, just that whatever replaced it would have to be really really compelling. I love my camera but its also a tool - if there's a better tool for the job and I can afford it, why not?

I have 35L, sigmalux, 85L, 16-35II, 24-70L, 70-200f4IS. If I have to keep one lens, it's the 85L.

To be honest, I cannot answer the thread title question. I still own every lens I have purchased - both for cameras and my enlarger - since 1967 or so.

The only lenses I have ever sold have been included with cameras, and all of those were sold prior to 1967.

You are driving me nuckin futz. lol Our lens lineups are close, I'm just trying to decide on a mid zoom or the sigma 30 to replace my tamron 17-50. And searching the forum I have read your replies and when I think I understand how you like your lenses, you confuse me again. What is it about the tamron 28-75 that makes you wish you kept it when you have the 24-105 on hand?
