If times were tough the EF-S 60 f/2.8 Macro USM would be my last lens. Super sharp and with it I can do 80% of my work.

600 f4is.
It's the least flexible, the heaviest, most cumbersome and attracts the most attention, but I love it and the images it gives!
(Unless of course you want to bribe me with an 800 f5.6 is!?)

I never say never, but 24-70L.

70-200 2.8L IS II, 50L, and 35L are also precious.

I had to think about this, but it's the 85L simply because I use it more than the 135L.

The last time I proclaimed that I would "never" sell a particular lens, I ended up selling it several months later. So I won't make that claim.

That isn't to say that I don't have a few lenses that are exceptionally good - the 70-200 f/2.8 IS is very nice and I intend to keep it even though a somewhat superior replacement is now out. The 300/2.8 IS is extraordinary and I have no intention of selling it at this time. But if something suitable comes out with which I can replace it, I may change my mind.

Well I never thought I'd sell my 70-200/2.8L non-IS unless I was going to an IS or something, turns out I sold it for more length (300/4L non-IS, which I think I'll eventually sell for the IS version or if I win lotto, the f/2.8!). Now I've got my 24-70L and I think I'll be keeping it for a long, long time. I don't see why I'd sell it.

Relatively new to me, but I don't foresee selling my mint Zeiss/Contax 35-70 3.4. Versatile, the sharpest zoom I've ever used, and I don't have to monkey w/ AF.
My 50 1.4 is a close 2nd. Though, not as good on the 5D-slow AF.
