In low light condition and with the OS on, what is the max shutter speed can one push it to get a keeper? I know the question is subjective but I think you know what I mean...
I happy with what the Tamron 17-50mm non-VC can do and was thinking of saving up for the Canon to get IS but it is over 1K ouch

. I think the Sigma is fitting well for my plan.
Sounds like quality + price is a better deal breaker than the Canon 17-55mm IS
Please post your best deal on this baby. Is your deal still available? TIA.
I'm still getting used to the lens, but I'd say it's pretty solid still at 2 stops slower than when I have the OS off or when I was using the tamron (which I had before this). I have kinda shaky hands so for me I still don't go super slow, but 2 stops is fairly safe and that's usually all I need anyway. Many times that makes the difference between an ISO 800 keeper and an unusable ISO 3200 shot...
I've seen 4 stops quoted before and I wouldn't trust that, but I probably wouldn't trust it for the canon IS lenses either
just my 2 cents, I'd also be interested in hearing more opinions on this...
(sorry for contributing to all the chat here, I'll try to get some pics up soon to contribute and make up for it)
