So why is it again that Amazon has removed this from their site? Someone earlier said because of these forums, but everyone here seems happy with this lens. Also 47stphoto seems to be out of these on ebay.

I believe Amazon has a set trigger for removing an item when a certain percentage of them ar returned. I bought my lens from them but have had no issues with it other than the hood dosent appear to fit all that tight.

Less talk, more pics. :)

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

This worries me too. I hope I didn't jump on this lens' train too soon. Even though I'm happy with mine, it doesn't make me feel good to know that people may be returning this lens at a rate which triggers amazon to stop selling it. Were the early reviews overly effusive? All the daylight pics look fab, I'd like to see some more low light pics with it wide open.

Doesn't appear that Amazon has stopped selling it? Still there when I search for it: http://www.amazon.com …TF8&qid=1301537661&sr=8-2 (external link)

Anyway, I love this lens. It's really sharp at f/2.8 as well, just seems to be crystal clear at f/4. I'm a hobbyist at best with Photography, but it's my understanding that all lenses are like this? Where stopping down a stop or two will render sharper pictures?

currently you can only buy it from other sellers through Amazon, not from Amazon.

to paraphrase Muhammad Ali, whatever effusive means if its good im that. only thing that matters is you are happy with yours.

I wouldnt worry too much since Amazon is still selling the Nikon & Sony version of this lens direct from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com …ics&qid=1301542052&sr=1-1 (external link)

http://www.amazon.com …ics&qid=1301542052&sr=1-4 (external link)

Same exact lens just different mounts.

Regards, ;)

i might be able to sell my canon 28-135mm to get this lens! (or some other form of wide-angle)

I was wondering how the AF does when shooting sports / faster motion? I was hoping to get something wider than my 50 f/1.4 for indoors stuff. <- and even that one doesn't have the greatest AF either.

So far the posted pics look really great though!
