I am considering purchasing a used copy if any of you would be able to help me decide on a gold price it would be appreciated. You may respond in this thread: https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1151969

Just got mine today...and I can't tell if the stabilization is working or not. It doesn't kick when I hit the shutter, although if "On" means it's on all the time...don't know. How solid is the OS on your lenses?? I turn it off and it seems like the view doesn't change as far as vibration or shake, and when it's on a wiggle the lens and don't see the view jump.

Any other stabilized lens I've used when it's on and you shake the camera the view jitters a bit. this lens doesn't do that. Unless the stabilization is just that rock-solid. On my 150-500mm the OS was solid, but it would always kick when it started, and you knew when it was on. Same thing with Canon stabilized lenses I had, the 28-300mm IS L and the 100mm L macro, you always could tell the difference between on and off.

Is the OS that rock-solid on this lens that it won't jitter when you shake the camera??

Well, so far I'm gonna say nevermind, it seems to be working. I can see it give a tiny jitter now and then. Must just be super-solid.

Well, I wanted to test the lens out today but I got the box at the exact time that I had to leave to go pick up my daughter from school, and then we had to pick up my wife at the foot doctor. All I've been able to do is a few test shots and whatnot, so nothing special from me yet...

Built a new desktop computer this weekend. Tried some cable management this time:

First non-technical shot with the lens. AI Servo, f/2.8, 50mm, 1/1250. On the computer it looks like focus hit the pole just behind the dog, but that could have been my tracking and the AI Servo that did that (the dog runs pretty fast when she's doing the "I'm going nuts" thing that she does). I think the shot came out pretty good though, can't complain yet. My true test for the lens will be World of Wheels this upcoming weekend, that's when the fun starts...
