My brother was in the mood to see the magical Eared Grebe in Cobourg harbour. When we arrived Harvey was already there practicing his Grebe call by whistling, "Here Grebey, here Grebey." That was enough to scare off half the birds that had gathered. They soon returned and we started clicking.
We were joined by a man from Gatineau, Quebec who had made the trip just to see the Eared Grebe. That's how special he is.
Here are a few from today.

1/ Young Ducklings are always a treat to watch and focus on.

My brother enjoyed himself immensely and so did I. Thanks to all the good company we had there this morning.

Wonderful shots Joe.....everyone of these are certainly special. The song sparrow is about the only one that ventures this far south, can't wait for their return this winter, that last grebe shot is gorgeous, and the ducklings are just way too cute for words.

Tough to beat ducklings for their innocence & charm and your images portray such... I have a fondness for sparrows and these shots are lovely, especially the post shot... but in my opinion, you saved the best for last, the "look", colors & detail are beautiful.

Sounds like a another good day in the field and obviously you won't be recording and marketing Harvey's bird calls :)

Thank you David. Your kind comments are always so much appreciated. From the sound of things, Harvey's natural bird calls are a sure way to bankruptcy should an attempt be made to market them.

Thank you so much Steve. As for the lessons, I could use some myself. Have you looked around at all the images on POTN? Not bad are they. The only thing I can agree on whole heartedly is my age. Old.
