I just bought a G11 the other night and have only quickly reviewed the manual. Is there a way to view your settings through the viewfinder, or do they only appear on the LCD? I'm used to shooting with my XSi and prefer shooting using a viewfinder. I ordered a recommended companion guide for the G11 and hope to learn more from that, but won't get it until next week.

Also, any suggestions on what to use to clean the LCD screen? Is it okay to use eyeglass or lens cleaner on it?

Thanks for any information on this!

Carla

Afraid the VF is only a glass hole with no info and only 77% of the cameras FOV whereas the LCD is 100%. The best book I have found is
Canon Powershot G11 (Expanded Guide) [Paperback]

Andy Stansfield (external link)

As to cleaning LCD I use a mop and bucket.

The difference between good and bad photographers is: Good photographers don't show their bad photos.

Thanks for the response -- I eventually found the same info about the viewfinder so I realize I just have to work with it. Just got David Busch's G10/G11 guide today, which was highly recommended on Amazon.

Must be a very small mop
