Well. Tried it on street, tried it in studio. This lens is awesome. The AF is just so accurate and sharpness wide open is stunning. The colours are not as good as 35L's but they are pleasantly less saturated. Though i was able to get some flare as well which was odd, but it was not too bad.
And i really like the new finish.

Man I love the Bokeh in that shot. One more week and mine will be shipped! I send the second payment to pay off my sig 85 to another member on here Thursday of next week. Then this lens is all mine!!!

really nice bball shots. I've been using the Sigma for the past 4-5 ball games on the 7D and getting good results as well. I'm not quite brave enough to go all the way to f/1.6, but gyms I shoot in are decent enough lit to stay at f/2!

Really nice shot Matt. I can't wait to get some city shots next time I'm up there. I was at a buddy's place watching Inception with riff tracks (pretty funny stuff) and told him I still needed a shot of the day and found this lying around.

Very nice city scape shot, Mat. I saw your gearlist and I see you have gone through quite a few camera body. How do you like the 7D so far and how does it compare to your previous 5D II or 1DS II in terms of picture quality?

badboytruckie, the bodies you mention are good and not so good at different things. The 5DmkII gave me some of the most amazing files I've processed, but don't try to process them much, adjusting the EV in post (and not by much) can yield ugly pattern noise at high and low ISO's....So, I'm not thrilled with it.

The 1DsmkII is pretty close to the perfect body (for me), I love them, but the Technology is getting old, the screen is small, the High ISO noise isn't too well controlled and the ergo's are cumbersome, but, that said, I think if the body wasn't a 1D size body I'd be shooting it now...I prefer a smaller form factor.

The 7D doesn't have the pattern noise that the 5D does (at least not as much), I never really notice it. The files are beautiful (and big) The high ISO is decent and the AF is really really good.... I like it.

I wish that the 7D had a FF sensor (with no pattern noise) it would be the perfect body for me.

I keep the 7D because it's the best of all the things I need. It's small, so I have an easy time pulling it out. The controls are all very intuitive for me, the IQ is top notch and the high ISO decent. I keep it because I like it, as you can see, I don't hang onto anything that I'm not using...The fact that I've owned this for, close to a year I guess tells me it's working fine for me.

The minute they put a FF sensor in a 7D body I'm in though. LOL
