Do the new finish and old finish different that much? Best, MC Hi Coibeo! I had an old finish Sigma 150-500mm for almost a year and it already had missing parts from its coating. On top of that I could never truly clean that finish as it was a dust magnet. The Sigma 50 and 85 I have are both with the new finish which is rubbery, cleans much easier and has a nicer grippy feel when holding it. In my opinion the new finish is more solid and so far is holding up very well for the last 7 months. Another factor is personal preference as to which finish looks better! To the best of my knowledge, and I may be wrong, the Sigma 85 is only available with the new finish since it was first launched.
