One unsolicited suggestion however. Pictures taken of me come out with a lot of red in my face, like in this shot. As I find it rather unflattering, I desaturate the red a bit and lighten it up a touch, so as not to look, well, kind of boozed up Call me Al Gear Flickr

Hope you don't mind the suggestion.I don't mind at all. I'm not even sure what the backdrop was for this photo, but that's the great thing about f/1.4. wedding-287_o My edit (increased exposure, contrast, slight desaturation): IMAGE LINK: http://www.flickr.com …/22184622@N07/8180371483/ wedding-287 Edit after Mookalafalas' suggestions: IMAGE LINK: http://www.flickr.com …/22184622@N07/8183329324/ wedding-287_2 5DmkII | Gripped 5DC | Canon 17-40mm f/4L | Σ 85 f/1.4 | Σ 50 f/1.4 | 430EX II

Your original edit does have more energy, but my eyes certainly did go those blood vessels in the nose pretty quickly, whereas they don't in the revised one... Either way, though, it's a very nice portrait. Call me Al Gear Flickr

The walls of this building were a weird red/brown so many photos came out a bit strange when bouncing a flash. Below are three comparison shots. Why not just selectively change the red saturation in the face instead of doing it globally. Then you keep the colors in the flowers. Pretty easy with photoshop or the adjustment brush in LR.

Thanks for your help folks! ![]() Depends on you, I think. I originally used this on a T2i, however, and loved the look wide open. Both are great lenses, however. I think the Canon has faster AF, but if you want narrower DOF and more low-light shooting, the Sig would be your better bet. Call me Al Gear Flickr
