Really? Why would you rather go with the zoom?

Because it's the best lens in that reach and would never let you down when you need it.

Don't get me wrong. The primes are great (had the sigma 30 and just ordered the 85), but I would choose the zoom anyday for my style of shooting.

If you don't shoot that much with the 70-200mm, get the primes and rent it when you need it.

For anyone interested in a great tele-zoom for outdoor, good light. Look into the new Tamron SP 70-300 VC USD. I just got mine a week or so ago and it's really, really nice. Only $400 after rebate.

Just a thought!

Some Test shots, fresh and SOOC, resized and converted to Jpeg. All wide open at 1.4, AF is spot on! :p

How is the overall AF performance of the Sigma 85/1.4 compared to the Canon 85/1.2L II?

seeing more and more people list their 85L for sale... a lot of them say they are picking one of these up. Can't blame them as it is hard to tie up so much money in one lens when a competitor does "almost" the same thing for half the price.

I noticed that as well Tyler. I don't blame them either. This lens ROCKS BIG TIME! $900 is a load of coin, but not nearly as much as double. Lol!! What can you say... "Sigma made a move.."
