Amazon is running a Father's Day promo on select Sigma lenses. Enter code SIGMADAD at checkout. The promo offer will show up on the item page if it is eligible. I was searching for a new prime when I came upon it. The 30mm f1.4 was eligible which takes its price down to about $395.

Works for the Sigmalux! Sweet deal, just like Abe's of Maine, but with no call.

Offer valid through June 20, 2010, or while supplies last.

Ya but could save additional 2% cashback after 10% discount from Abe's. Up to the buyer to decide if that 2% is worth getting a sales call to confirm order.

Would normally prefer Amazon, but just pre-ordered the 85mm from Abes. Used 10% off, plus a couponcode for an extra $15 (loyalty15). Then stacked bing for an additional $18. Couldn't resist. $776.12 when all is said and done. The phone call is a bit annoying, but it was a 10 second call with no real sales hassle.

It's not on all Sigma lenses. I was shopping for a fast normal prime. The Sigma 28mm f1.8 didn't have the 10% off while the 30mm did. As shown in shagaholics post it will show up quite clearly in the item page if it's eligible.

that phone call is why i will never order from them again... just wished i would've held out another couple weeks on the 30 1.4 b/c i would much rather have preferred to order it through amazon

I don't see what the big deal is about Abe's sales calls after purchase. I ordered the 85mm today, they called to confirm address data & asked if I wanted to keep overnight shipping, as the lens isn't in stock yet. Asked if I needed a filter---I said no, they thanked me, end of call. Simple, not even the slightest bit of trying to get me to make a purchase.

That 1 minute call was worth me saving $64 in sales tax alone, plus $15 more with loyalty coupon & then the 10% off purchase price of $899. Not bad at all.

I just ordered the 17-50mm f2.8 thru abes. I already have the lens that I purchases thru amazon but to save $100, I'll send back the first one to amazon. I would have called amazon but they didn't show the 10% off on this lens and I know they don't price match any more. I did get the call from abes today. Asked if I needed filters, I said no. Salesman was polite and without any sales pressure.

Wow... this is a killer deal, especially if you can stack BCB on top of this! My wife needs this lens pretty bad but she says I spend enough money for the both of us! Well I can't really argue with her about that one. I'd really hate to pass up a deal like this one though.
