I'm looking at a PDA for myself, but I am torn on these 2: the Socket SoMo 650-M and the HP iPaq 210. And the ipod touch or ipad has nothing on it that I need/want, so they both would be a waste of money for me.

SoMo:

iPaq:

Which looks like a better deal? The SoMo retails for $800 but I have seen it for the lowest price of $485, and the iPaq goes for ~$400. I'll pay the extra for the first if need be. What do you guys think?

What do you want to use it for?

Have you looked into a smartphone from your provider? The reason is, a PDA isn't that usefull without a data connection (internet access). Sure, the iPaq has WiFi, but you need to get access to Wi-Fi. Having data access at your convenience makes it easier. I use my HTC Touch pro 2 (Windows Mobile) from calling my friends, researching info on the net, to GPS Navigation (Garmin).

Yea i have looked into smartphones, but they charge quite a lot for the data plans, and it's not worth it for me. The place where I'll be using it, (State College, PA), has internet connection all over. so I really don't have to worry too much about it.

I've got an old Dell Axim X51v I used every day when I worked for the school system. All of our buildings had WiFi so connectivity wasn't a concern. I did most of my work from it including management of the heating, cooling and lighting systems. I don't use it much now but man was it ever a life saver back in the day.
