I have a cannon rebel XT hooked up to a still shot lighting system. When I first set it up I was shooting great. Then it started working intermittently.

Now it doesn't work at all more often than it does. It shows that it is synced-- everything seems to be fine, in all of the troubleshooting I can think of.

Can anyone give me an idea why? If this is a case of a cheap remote is there any recommendation of what would be a good way to go?

Thanks in advance

Cheri

does these cheap remotes take batteries? also have you checked to make sure that they are all on the correct channel?

Thanks for getting back to me.

Yes it takes batteries-They are brand new. I have also double checked the channels and tested the sync from the adapter on the hot shoe.

Do you have any suggestions on any more reliable remote I could check on without going ultra-expensive?

What kind of remote ?
If this is the RF-602 remote, check the battery in the transmitter.
Might have to bend the tab down "a little" on the + side.
This is a common problem.
