Not normally my bag, birding, but we've just come back from a two week holiday in Turkey and there were lots of Jays flying around the resort. They appeared to hang around for a while so I couldn't resist trying to catch a few shots. That is until you waved a camera at them, trickier to catch than I thought!

Anyway here's a handful of samples taken with my 450D and 70-210 USM lens:

Very nice indeed, and a very interesting Jay.

These are way good for someone who doesn't normally shoot birds... And your disappointment to clip a tail is telling... You are at risk to catch the disease.

But don't worry, we have a good support group here. ;)

I love the looks of these Jays, thanks for posting them! Nice shots of a unique bird. Canon will love you if you get hooked on shooting birds....more glass...heh..heh.
