Hi all,

by chance I found this great website and it is my pleasure to be a member. Indeed I am very new to the world of photography and I need your help to guide me to the right path. I am posting here a photo which I took yesterday and need your comments on it in terms of exposure, colour & sharpens .

These look pretty good to me. As to what appears to be a serpent wrapping the glass, what is its actual color? Is it metal? Glass? There's a couple of oragnish/yellowish spots on the lower left edge of the glass. Are these part of the serpent? They look like some kind of artifact. You might consider doing away with them in post processing.

The grapes have blemishes on them. If gives the image an unfinished element that doesn't seem to go well with the elegance of the glass. You might try picking unblemished grapes, turning them, or fixing them in post processing. The black stems should go too.

I think your lighting is a bit too hot on the grapes in the top of the glass and those on the table.
I think that almost anything you do to the lighting will be an improvement. For example, definitely soften it with (more) diffusion. Also, I would guess that tilting the light for a more diagonal path would be an improvement.

Gents, Thank you so much for your comments and I agree with you that all your observation is valid. In replying to your question, the actual color of the wrapping is brown and it is part of the glass design. I do not why the color got changed from brown to black when I took the shoot. In fact, this is something strange, is it because I did not use flash or the lights was not enough?
Yes, you are right the grapes have blemishes on them and it was my mistake because I did not select the good grapes :)

Thank you once again for your advice :)

TC,
Abdullah
