- although I'd be hard pressed to use a screen larger than 13,3" - that's my laptop's size... an I turn my head to look at screen edges - but that might be me....

Thats a matter of viewing distance, I don't have to turn my head to view the whole of my primary screen, but I do have to turn it a little to see all of my secondary.
I do have to move my eyes around a lot, which is a good thing, as it helps stop eye strain.
Turning my head to view the secondary isn't a problem either, again it helps relive muscle stress.

I don't think I could ever do photo work on a 13inch screen, I've done it before and its ok for web browsing, but they are just to small to fit a photo onto, or even a large spreedsheet or work document.

I suppose it is - but to be honest I'm sitting quite far from my screen right now....
(about 50cm to my eyes maybe) - and I still don't like text from one side to the other - its too wide for my field of view (I do wear glasses though).

In the end its a "what works for you" I'd guess - 13,3" at 1280*800 is ideal for me - on that note... I dislike 16:9 - looks like my laptop needs to last until I die... cough...

Are those models on the top shelf? I also like the Apple sticker. :)

:lol::lol:
Models of a sort I suppose.
I once upon a time owned an iPod Nano, the sticker was only good thing that came out of the box......... :p :lol:

Yeah, at the end of the day, different people are able to work in different ways.
I sit about 55cm (just measured it) away when I'm sitting properly, and also wear glasses (its also the distance that my vision starts to go blurry).
But, I do have a massive desk which helps.

I started out working on a non-calibrated 15inch screen, then moved to a calibrated 17inch and kept working my way up from there.
But it was the move from the small 800 x 600 to the bigger 1024 x 768 screen that made me realize how nice it was to see the image at close to 100%.

I've also had a job were I had to use a 13inch laptop, it used to drive me nuts, I would spend more time scrolling around a document than I did working on it :cool:

My desktop has something similar to this (see below), except I have three 19" LCDs across my 5' wide desk. Just enough room left to put a telephone on the desk. :lol: I bought the LCDs about 4 years ago, cost me a small fortune back then, but I love all the real estate space for photo and video editing.

Btw, this setup also works very well if one wished to dabble in the stock market, too. ;) Lots of room for many live charts, watch lists, and level II quotes.
