For folks in the area, I highly recommend checking out the Henri Cartier-Bresson exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City before it closes shop after 28 June. The exhibit features an extensive collection of photos, including landscapes and portraits, not just street shots.

Cartier-Bresson has his critics, but seeing his work truly reinforced the importance of being able to recognize the scene's aesthetic or compelling pinnacle, an elusive skill that I will certainly be forever chasing, but one that is perhaps the most important in photography.
