Found this little guy out by our pond.

Overexposed!

I would have preferred to see his head popping our of the frame as too much back end oof is not very appealing.

I agree with Bob, overexposed. It also doesn't hep that the frog and the rock are of similar color and density. Maybe look for a frog on a lillypad or something that would contrast the texture of the frog...

I should have provided a bit more info on the exposure.
The frog's shadow is quite distinct - almost as if it were a partly cloudy day, which is medium to very harsh lighting. Under those conditions and taking into consideration that there is some specular reflection from the wet skin, it is necessary to tame the harshness of the lighting. In other words, the same shot on an overcast day would have eliminated the specular reflections and significantly reduced the dynamic range of the scene values. Arranging for the frog to be in open shade (even if you have to create the open shade yourself) would be a big improvement in the lighting.
