Any idea where in the UK I can get the filter above the sensor replaced in UK?

My local dealer quoted £800 as he would only replace the whole sensor and this is more than the camera's worth.

Thanks

I thought that the low pass filter was part of the sensor assemble.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Thanks - I tried googling them but can't find them. Do you have a number or email address for them?

will have a look, i never bother emailing or ringing, just shove it in a box with a letter with all my details on, phone email address etc, and they sort it out.

heres the number 0844 369 0100

I thought that the low pass filter was part of the sensor assemble.

It is, but the low pass filter has a part number of it's own. If it has a part number, you can get it seperately.

e.g.
CG2-1699-000 Filter Ass'y, low pass
CY3-1520-000 PCB Ass'y, Imaging processing

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter purchased for:

You could ask ACS in Norfolk (external link). They do IR conversions, so are used to replacing the filter on the sensor.

It's now on its way to Canon, but thanks for the suggestion.

One more question to those that have used the Canon UK limited cci service center
Unit 130 Centennial Park....

How long before they contact you and how long before the camera is returned?

I don't know about contacting, because the one and only time I used them I had to have a 24-70L repaired come what may, so gave instructions for them to just proceed. Done through my local shop, it was exactly one month and one day. It was returned with a Canon report sheet that was totally blank!

I've used that service centre twice - I think they say 7 working days but could be longer if they have to order parts in, and they return it through a next-working-day courier.
