I went to Summer lake wildlife refuge in eastern Oregon yesterday, and while most of migrant birds were gone, there were a lot of resident waterfowl there. I saw a lot of American avocets, Black-necked stilts, Mallard ducks, pelicans, terns, etc...

Here's the few shots of American avocets...

Great shots Et.....These are such beautiful birds and ones that are high up on my "must see" list, but unfortunately I haven't had any luck so far.

Thank you, Sharon! I have seen them for the first time just this weekend, and yes, they are very pretty. Luckily we have them year around, so I always know where to go to see some of these birds.

I appreciate nice words, Steve! Summer lake wildlife refuge is one of the Oregon's prime places for migratory and resident shore birds and waterfowl. It just amazes me that I rarely see anyone there. I guess the isolation of this place makes it not very visited. It is very beautiful nevertheless.
