I recently purchased my 1dmk4 for a road rally I just participated in.....just wanted to share some pics from some low light shots
1/60 shutter f4.5 iso 2000

Very nice! But it can focus in even lower light... like 2.8 1/60 12,800... ;-)a

These shots are very clean with little to no noise. Oh I can dream :) Did you do any noise reduction in pp?

No noise reduction. Straight from camera

Which can be misleading because if they were shot in JPG then there was noise reduction already applied to them in the camera. The only way to see a camera's true capability is to shoot raw, open in DPP and set both Chroma and Luminance noise reduction to 0.

Amazing. I don't see any noise at all whatsoever! #2 is quite sharp

I like #2. Sharper than #3 and doesn't have fire coming out of her neck like #1 :p Though the fire "tongue" in #1 is pretty cool.

Regardless, pretty impressive. Now crank 'er up to the 5- and 6-digit ISO's and let us see what it's really capable of :twisted:


5D2 + primes (both EF and adapted manual-focus). Being a bohemian film/photo major is turning out to be pretty expensive, after all >_<
