Hi Zane.
How was the coast? What'd you do?

It was nice. We hung out at the beach a lot. We met up with Leyla's dear childhood friend who was down there as well. That was really nice. We collected lots of rocks for our tumbler. We pulled a seine net and IDed the critters we caught. Stuff like that.
We found a new fun place, Cape Henlopen. It is a state park so it is natural with no boardwalks or beach cwap. There are alot of places the dog is allowed and there are no night closures so Leyla and I hung out there late night a lot. We can get a over sand permit and drive out on the beach which we will do next time.

Sweet, sounds cool Z, glad you enjoyed! You getting pounded with a storm right now? Looks like it could here, but not a lot on our radar atm. Kinda nice if we could lose just a smidge of the humidity, lol.

It has passed but it was DARK and sideways rain for a bit. It was so weird, there was a rushing hard wind sound with it and it stopped like someone turned off a light switch.

It just turned black and started to pour here, we really need the rain, it should clear up by tomorrow AM. We were over 95 at 80% humidity here, it should clear it out a bit.

... STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT ESSEX... HUDSON... NORTHERN UNION... PASSAIC AND SOUTHEASTERN BERGEN COUNTIES...

AT 214 PM EDT... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING A STRONG THUNDERSTORM NEAR PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS TOW... AND MOVING EAST AT 40 MPH.

WINDS UP TO 40 MPH ARE EXPECTED WITH THIS STORM. IN ADDITION... VERY HEAVY RAIN... WITH RAINFALL RATES OF UP TO ONE INCH AN HOUR... IS OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM. THIS COULD CAUSE PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS... AND MINOR FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.

LIGHTNING IS ONE OF NATURES NUMBER ONE KILLERS. REMEMBER... IF YOU CAN HEAR THUNDER... YOU ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO BE STRUCK BY LIGHTNING. MOVE TO SAFE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY.

Sounds idyllic. I wish we'd had a few more days over at our beach. It was perfect.

I don't think we need sand permits here. I'm pretty sure that if it's allowed (some beaches it is, some it isn't) then you can drive on it.

not envying the thunderstorms at all. It's nice here. Perfect summer weather...mid-70's, dry heat.

I just assumed (wrongly) that everyone did. :p

Hey Zane, sounds like a nice relaxing break.
