Dan and his sister used to fly down to LA every summer to stay with their grandparents. They were unaccompanied. The airlines are pretty good with minors.

If she were flying to Florida to visit her grandparents I would have no problem whatsoever.

Heather, I'm doing okay. Not well but okay. Better than bad, so that's good :)

We have this combo fridge/freezer in our garage. I mostly keep meat in the freezer and drinks in the fridge. So...it's supposed to be frost free but it's old. I have been waiting for it to warm up, to defrost it. Decided to do it today, not thinking that I'd be hauling all that meat into the house freezer on my own. Ah well, I did it and now it's the defrost odyssey commencing.

You have to remember to be careful. Glad you are checking off one thing on you to-do list though.

It was nice. We hung out at the beach a lot. We met up with Leyla's dear childhood friend who was down there as well. That was really nice. We collected lots of rocks for our tumbler. We pulled a seine net and IDed the critters we caught. Stuff like that.
We found a new fun place, Cape Henlopen. It is a state park so it is natural with no boardwalks or beach cwap. There are alot of places the dog is allowed and there are no night closures so Leyla and I hung out there late night a lot. We can get a over sand permit and drive out on the beach which we will do next time.

Sounds like you and Leyla had a great time.

Julia is going to spend 3 weeks with a friend from camp who can't come to camp this year. My brother is friends with her parents. She is nervous and the whole family is a little wary about the situation, but my brother and SIL are what they are and feel it is OK for their 9 year old to fly unaccompanied 18 hours and changing flights...

The flight attendants are usually really good about taking care of the unaccompanied minors on their flights, and making sure that they get to the right planes for connections. Sounds like you already have a great amount of stuff for her to do - does she like word searches or cross word puzzles? they might be easier than the mad libs if she does not have anyone to talk to for the fill in the blank stuff.
