Good morning folks. Wow.. THis is the second day in a row now that it's not soaking wet and steamy. It's down right perfect today. Skies a little white but other than that... perfect.

A little white in the sky is nice. I am getting so tired of all this sunshine and its attempts at melting me. :p

Thanks, Dan. I enjoy the drive from the Bay Area to Reno. The trip over the Sierras is very pretty, and once past Sacramento, traffic is never a problem.

I'm not sure if I'll be taking any photos this trip, but if I don't, it won't be because I don't have any equipmnet with me. The trunk is full. My brother is driving down from Washington, and it's Lois' birthday, so I might not have an opportunity to get away. I might have to be creative.

On my trip back from Yosemite we took the east side. The trip through the mountains was spectacular. Had to stop a bunch of times just to take in the vistas. Have a great trip.

I'd be a slacker. My cell was charging and I did not pay attention to it. :p

THanx guys. Hard to take a bad one when the scenery is so spectacular. I wish I would have spent more time coming down but my wife was antsy and it was getting late.

One more from the Tuolumne pass. We stopped for lunch up there. It's the bluest skies I have ever seen... ever..

I think you mean Tioga Pass.

I wonder what causes the sky to look so dark at high elevations. I noticed that when I hiked to the top of Mount Whitney. The closer I got to the top, the darker and bluer the sky got.

I believe it has something to do with the water in the atmosphere. I remember reading somewhere that 95% of the earths water vapor is at 10k feet and less. There is scant little above that.
