What do you mean look like... I am a GIANT :-)

I guess I assumed they are all short rather than that you are over a foot taller than the rest of the average world? :)

I had a good day yesterday at the Nikaah/Wedding. .

Lovely pics.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

hahaha I was going to say that.

Yesterday I was with Chris & Dan at the rodeo and we were talking about how I have a hard time seeing over tall people when I'm sitting down. (I went to the back row and stood up the whole time) and I was thinking how lucky he was that he was so tall and able to shoot over a railing while sitting down in the first row...it sucks to be so short.

I hide and delete things all the time. Just use FB for your enjoyment and forget the rest. ;)

you know, I saw how you axed a TON of people and no one said a word. I'm feeling absolutely persecuted that I get flack for it.:lol:

do you guys find yourselves "hiding" people on FB?

I have a couple of people that I've accepted their friend requests that I don't really know and their posts are crazy (I mean like alcoholic rantings). I'm not talking about anyone in here...lol Anyway, I've hidden them, mostly because I got so much flack for unfriending people...but it makes me wonder does anyone just think FB is so blasted encumbering? I have guilt because I WISH I could unfriend some people but not to hurt them. Just to remove them from my space :lol: Hiding seems so silly. I never look again once they are hidden. But I'm also not out to hurt anyone's feelings.

Anyway, just wanted some feedback. Sometimes the stupid politics of FB makes me feel like Jr. High all over again.

I hide and unfriend at will without worrying about hurt feelings. If I am unfriending you I wouldn't be particularly interactive with you in real life anyway.

What is a sari?

Its the long traditional dress worn by Indian women. Taken off, that complicated dress is, in fact a 9 yard square of cloth.

no really, I did that once and most people understood. I'm sure it will be fine. I'm gunshy. I've just got scorch marks from the ones that didn't understand.

The problem is no one likes me well enough to feel slighted for being removed :p:p - If anything it's a relief.

But seriously, I friended a lot of people, I didn't communicate with a lot of people and so I removed them. Personally, I'd rather communicate with my POTN comrades ON POTN. It's easier to keep in touch with close friends and family if the list isn't diluted by other avenues of my life.

So is the traditional shoe a sandal? And are tall heels chic for the woman there?

Bollywood is blurring all the edges. One of the pictures I took made me laugh, the girl on the right is my friends eldest daughter (only 14) but her spontaneous pose could not be more Bollywood if she tried. :-)

What Harm said.

Some weddings are unbelievably lavish and expensive. I have been to some enormous 3 day events, and some of the most lavish are from the area that I assume Harm's family hails from the Punjab.

I once went to a wedding in the UK where the bride had received over 100 saris as gifts. I asked her what she was going to do with them, without missing a beat she said she would be giving them away..... as wedding presents. :-)

Bingo, Neil. Punjab is where my familg hails from. Haven't been back there in a while though - certainly not with the wife. I'll get her over there one day.

As for gifts and crap, even the cousins/uncles/aunts etc. are given gifts from the groom/bride's family. I've been given god knows how many suit shirts, ties and all that jazz from all the weddings I've gone to...

Ironic, that I eloped and we haven't been given a single wedding present...I really pissed off a lot of people by doing things very non-traditional.
