The tooth brushing was actually mildly tolerated, he even rolled over for some tummy scritches when he was done...amazing.

This is in reply to Chet's/Chris' earlier posts in re: his father's comment. It's out of my usual boundaries for posts, so, if you're not interested, skip this. Act like I never said anything at all.

That's the most you can do.

I could see myself writing a very similar sentiment. I still have my dad and we still have our moments....but even though we bang heads on certain topics...he is still Dad....he is still some kind of Superman in my eyes....you captured the point well.

Nice fungi and floral rant Becky!

Cute pups Cat.

Nice butterfly bushes Poim....they are considered a noxious species here too....but I have three and the butterflies and hummers love them...I cut the blooms off as soon as they start going brown....and every fall I cut the whole bush way, way back.

*wants ice cream*

We were smart enough to do the shelter dog photos in the early afternoon, when the temperature was only 112.
Notice that all the photos are on the front sidewalk, rather than in the play yard? Yeah. Couldn't even walk them across the blacktop. Too freaking hot.

You want I should talk to him, Cat?

Tyko is a 2 year old Border Collie. He has been debarked. You can't imagine how sad it is to hear this gorgeous border collie try to communicate with us, and just wheeze. :(

A-holes. Either train the dog, or put up with it. I met a couple Irish Wolf Hounds a short while ago that were debarked, what a shame it was.

cfpackerfan wrote in post #10524189 (external link)
Saddest of the day, this is Zippy. He's 8 years old, badly matted and unhealthy. Owner released. I want to smack them.
He probably only weighs about 3-4 pounds. Less if you remove some of that nasty fur.

Poor little fella. Really makes you wonder about some people. And here I was sweating missing a couple little knots in Jasper's coat.

cfpackerfan wrote in post #10524238 (external link)
And thus ends my ranting. Thanks for putting up with me. :)

Wonderful bunch in your rant today, Cat. Always happy to put up with you, and you know it. :D :D

I am sure eli would love some tummy rubs, but he was doling them out to the cat!!

He started "karate camp" today, so tired he climbed into bed at 9:15 and is out like a light! He's been going to bed around 10ish. He will go for the next 2 weeks. I also had to put a little bengay type stuff on his side as he was sore!

Cory is doing some Marine testing of some kind.

Probably ASVAB. Skills testing to see what you might be qualified to do or have an aptitude for.

He's already done that one. I think this one was a physical?

Wow....they usually don't do the physical/physical testing until you are inside 30 days until the start of your basic training. They want to make sure you aren't broken before they ship you off.

Well, I could be wrong, but I know that they were concerned about it because he was in the ER only a couple days ago, and still wasn't feeling up to par.
(nothing serious, just tonsillitis and dehydrated, but it's lingering)

That's great. I really got in good shape and developed some self esteem when I took martial arts as a teen. They stretch the heck out of you and really build good even strength.
